The Pupil Personnel Services department creates opportunities and provides assistance for student learning through our in-district counselors, nurses, social workers, occupational therapists, physical therapists, speech language pathologists, school psychologists and intervention specialists. The Pupil Personnel Services staff collaboratively bring their experience, expertise, and resources together with our teachers to respond to the academic and social emotional needs of our students.
East Cleveland City Schools are dedicated to ensuring that appropriate special education services are provided for all eligible students from birth through 21 years of age. We have high expectations for all children, and in accordance with the Individuals with Disabilities Act (IDEA), ensure access to the general education curriculum in regular education classrooms, to the maximum extent possible. The District offers a full continuum of special education services readily available throughout the District, with programs serving children with learning challenges, multiple disabilities, emotional/behavioral needs, as well as those with speech/language and other related services needs. The District’s special education staff is committed to serving our students and their families. We value both collaboration and communication in the process of meeting the unique needs of every child.
If you have a child who you believe has a disability, please contact Courtney Bean Jones at (216) 268-6474.
